 "If you want to build a ship, don't herd people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea."
- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944)

Some other favorite de Saint-Exupéry quotations;

"A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral."

"How could there be any question of acquiring or possessing, when the one thing needful for a man is to become - to be at last, and to die in the fullness of his being. "

Men have forgotten this truth,' said the fox. 'But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.'
-From Le Petit Prince (incredible book!)

good times reading the little prince in french... 4? 5? Can't remember. I think 5 since I don't remember Keshav complaining about it. Something about that class was just the worse, sitting in that circle and getting 3 pages read an hour, counting how many people were in front of you so you could practice in your head the passage you would have to read.

Pretty much all my French memories have a hint of Keshav's presence in them.. Hard to say. Maybe I've even improvised them to include the 'not so little' Prince himself.

I would always dread that class, but in some way it was my favorite.

Funny how I've retained very little from those classes...
